Making Masks in Art
Our new Art teacher, Michael Pryde motivates students to be creative. An example of this are the masks they made in class.

I'm in DPS
One of our students expresses his desire for his school - This is the universal sign for " I Love You "

Artsonia Art Gallery
Artsonia is the world's largest kids art museum online. It's the newest way to celebrate creativity in the classroom and get families involved in art education! Artsonia Art Gallery allows viewers to see D.D.S.D. students' artwork. Each student's work may be imprinted on various items for purchase. D.D.S.D. earns 15% when parents purchase custom keepsakes with their child's artwork.

Artwork For Greeting Card
DDSD student Deontae Lyles' illustration was selected for the Holley Ear Institute's 2008 Christmas Greeting Card. Congratulations Deontae!

Winter 2009

In February, Middle School and S.T.E.P. students in Ms. Collrin's life skills class participated with volunteers across the country in the annual, 4-day "Great Backyard Bird Count". Students practiced observation skills and learned about birds in the school neighborhood. They also helped scientists at the Cornell University Lab of Ornithology gather important data about birds and their habits. For more information check out www.birdsource.org/gbbc/whycount.html and www.birds.cornell.edu
